MCM London October Outfit

I do love lolita, but I do feel it is some what limited in it's prints (well, for me anyway). Don't get me wrong, I do love the cute, candy prints, but I just felt I needed to put my own twist on the style :).
So this monstrosity was born! Muah ha ha! Stag beetle lolita themed skirt, yo yos!
I wanted to do something big and fancy for MCM London October, with a lolita and unusual theme. And as I love all things creepy crawly, it seemed like a good solution to combine the two :)
So, voila! Bug Lolita was born. Who gives a damn, aye?
I'll need to get my hands on a decent petticoat, as I just have two skirts under it in the picture to help poof it out a bit, and it'll be uncomfortable walking around London with 3 skirts on.
I hand painted the stag beetles (I didn't have a chance in hell finding something similar pre-printed) and to be fair, I have no artistic ability with painting or drawing, so this just ain't that bad! It took me freakin' hours (slow poke), so I was super pleased and relieved when they were done.

I'm very tempted to make a mini version of this skirt that I can wear when ever. With little stag beetles running all the way around.
I need to decide on the rest of the outfit too, I have no idea what I'm going to wear on top. I have some pink boots for my feet, and I'm going to wear my 6%Dokidoki Cosmo leggings with them, and then that bug cardigan. But what would suit this skirt otherwise?? Eek.
Oh, and a bag!! What bag shall I wear? Oh decisions, decisions.

I also made some big, fat, jewelled hair slides:

I'm thinking about doing two side buns on the day, and having these as decorations. I might have to seek out some green, plastic bugs stick on, so they fit in with the theme a bit better.

Any input would be wonderful :)

Thanks, and cya!
