AHHHHH!!! BUG CARDIGAN!!! I'm in love :D ASOS really does sell the occasional gem! Now, I'm just waiting for them to put their banana skirt on sale... I love bananas.
Anyway, on to the more important DIY stoof!
Recently, I've decided that shorts look bloody awful on me (curse of the fat thighs), so consequently, I've been making skirts like a mad lady. I was freakin' lucky to find a seconds fabric with a Buzz Lightyear print on it. I nearly spazzed in the shop, as I adore Buzz Lightyear, but hate Woody. So any Toy Story merchandise without Woody on, is bloody brilliant. Oh, and the three-eyed aliens are a winner too, sadly, there isn't much stuff with them on about D:
I made a major cock up it. The main skirt is made up of two long, equal pieces stitched together, so I was going to put the zip on the side. Of course, I went in to auto drive and whacked it on the back, so there is a huge seam on the front. Oh piss. I only realised as I literally just finished it, so I put a little bow, off-centre on the front to try and detract from this.
For my second skirt, I decided to flirt with spandex again! My first experience with it was traumatic, and so for 4 years I have avoided it. I wanted an easy wear, stretch skirt, and I find when I wear jersey skirts, they do that annoying thing where the fabric rides up between your thighs, eurgh. And the polka dots design is super cute, and I can't deny anything that's green...
So yeah, it looks pretty piss boring. So a whacked a fat bow on the arse.
Ta-dah! Much better :D
Maybe I've been using too many bows... Going to make a pair of leggings from the left over (to be honest, I originally bought the fabric for that, but got distracted). I had a bloody hard time making this skirt, as I had the wrong needles size (I asked for size 11, but they gave me 9 - rude). So it got a karate kick the face afterwards, sick of seeing jumped stitches!! GAH.
Many a year ago, armed with very little crafting knowledge and my mother's sewing machine. I attempted to make a couple of cushion cases with some green, faux-fur fabric. Long story short, I was super chuffed with myself for making something that actually stayed together. I've kept them all this time, and I finally gave in and decided they needed to be rid of, and the cases updated with something less scratty. I recycled the zip openings (they were different lengths, I was so clueless back then) and got some scraps together:
I wanted cushions covers that matched structurally, but not theme. I'm pretty pleased with them, and they are a massive improvement on the last ones anyway! And yeah, same Buzz fabric, not going to waste it, yo! Feel kind of sad to chuck my first lot away, but I can barely fit anything in my room anyway, so would be silly to keep them.
And look what I found in a charity shop for a quid!
I had to have it. Not put a photo in it yet, as I'm too lazy to turn the printer on. I wish there wasn't such a stigma around charity shops, you can find some awesome, cheap stuff in them, and it's all going to a worthwhile cause, so what's the damn problem?
A last note, I can't help but feel very sad about the last Atlantis shuttle launch. What a shame D:

Introductory Post :)
So I guess I should start with some kind of introductory post :). So, hey, I'm Jasmine J Green, but I like to go by Green for short.
I love bright colours (particularly green), DIY fashion, science, horror & chai lattes. I have no idea what else to say.
I've set up this blog 'cause I want to keep it as some kind of fun memoir, something I can look back on in a couple of years time and laugh at and to see how much I've changed, you know, like we do with our embarrassing MySpace profiles now! I'll probably post an awful lot about my DIY crafting attempts, recent purchases & occasional mini adventures I go on, around and about. I'd also like to find other people's blogs to read that follow the same kind of fun fashion theme, so say hi! I have no freakin' idea how to navigate this site yet, ha.
So I guess that's it for now :)
